TORCAN is Looking for Contest Judges!

TORCAN 2025 is looking for judges for the model contest! We want a lot of judges so the contest is able to run as smoothly as possible –  so the more the merrier!

If you have never judged before, have no fear as we will pair you up with two experienced judges to help you learn the model-judging ropes.

For those who have not done it before – judging is one of the best ways to really look at the  competition entries. It gives you a chance to closely examine a group of models, and discuss their attributes with other experienced modelers. It can be a lot of fun and is a great way to learn about the models themselves and a variety of techniques!

The judges will also be provided a light pizza lunch as a small show of gratitude for your time and effort. You can judge the genre you are entered in, just not the category, so having models in the contest is not a barrier to judging.

Please consider volunteering and if you would like to do so, just click THIS LINK and the Chief Judge, Paul Roberts, will be in touch.

IPMS Hamilton is proud to be a chapter of IPMS (International Plastic Modeling Society) Canada. Our club received its charter in 2006 and we have been growing ever since.

We are a diverse group of model enthusiasts who enjoy modeling subjects from military aircraft to cars. Amongst our members are a broad range of skills from beginners to experts, as we welcome all participants.

Each year our club hosts one of the largest events in scale modelling in Canada known as HeritageCON. This event is our club’s fund-raising activity for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, which is where we are fortunate to meet. The museum does give us a unique opportunity to meet and discuss our members latest projects amongst the aircraft that are part of our country’s heritage. I welcome you to browse our site and more importantly, join us and experience all we have to offer.

Side6

Mecha Modeling Club

WebsiteFacebookInstagram

Side6 was founded in the summer of 2019 by a couple of Southern Ontario mecha modelling enthusiasts. They wanted to build a community of likeminded builders and stores in Southern Ontario to help raise the caliber of builders in Southern Ontario for competitions as well as create new friends for people with a shared interest.

The goal from the start was to have in person meets where members could build their kids together, and change what is typically a solitary activity, into a shared experience – adding a social element.
